Update
part 2 ...
8.2.08
So
I started working on a Product Red tee design because I've been wanting
to for a while, mostly due to the fact that I really wasn't a fan of the
tees that came out for the Summer or Fall. Not really sure what line.
I
think the design is great and I'm getting the same reaction from others
who have seen, so of course I'm pretty excited about it. Well here's where
the bubble burst and I take that free fall back to Earth from that cloud
nine I was so happily perched on.
"Question:Who do I contact about doing business with Gap Inc.?
Answer: While we appreciate your interest in Gap Inc., we are unable to
accept or review unsolicited proposals.Our
in-house design staff is dedicated to the development, design and marketing
of our products. As such, we do not consider proposals or suggestions
regarding new products or advertising campaigns from outside people or
business entities." Straight
from Gap.com FAQ section. Ouch. So just a bit bummed. So it seems
that if I want this shirt design to go anywhere I'll be printing them
myself, of course with no Product Red label. Shying away from the whole
getting sued if I keep the logo on there thing. I was told to try Hallmark
since they sell Product Red cards.I do plan on adding it to my web store
as a tee when I relaunch in hopefully October with some new tee concepts.
Oh yeah, I'm probably taking down the store next week and relaunching
in October. Anyway, my Product Red design is below

Update
part 1 ...8.2.08
Two
quick post for you. A progress report on the design right below this post,
and a new design I started working on as I sat bored and hot in my apartment.I
think the first design has the 80's feel to it a bit, with the colors
and the neon lettering. I'm going to working on the eyes more. I think
I have a thing for eyes, which I'm sure you would agree if you saw some
of the designs hanging around my apartment. Speaking of which, I'm still
in the transition of making my pad look all artsy. Mostly a bunch of pictures
without frames yet. I'll get those eventually. Anyway, the second design
is a little tongue and cheek but I find it amusing. I added the nike logo
to her shoes just because of the companies tag line, which hopefully you
know and understand to the context of the picture, because it makes me
laugh every time I think of it.Hey, occasionally I get to be immature.

Art
and Tees ... 7.26.08
Working
on a series of small things, portraits, more tees for the collection,
and Heineken stuff. Mostly layouts for their catalog. Its steady work,
which is a great thing. Nothing to creative yet, so I'm passing time designing
whatever comes to mind. The portrait is still a work in progress, and
I've had a few ideas or themes for it. Might be going for an 80's theme
now. As for tee designs, I'm hoping to have a 2nd set of tees to add to
my collection, by October. 6 total. Two designs done as of now. I will
probably post them in September. Have to go thru the process of picking
the right garments, which is easy for the guys tees, but a little tricky
for the women. The tees I picked before for the first set seemed like
they would fit almost everyone, but sadly, only petite women need apply.
Kind of upsetting but its part of the learning curve. Anyone, going to
form a small discussion group of women to help me decide on garments,
if anyone wants to help it would appreciated.

Back From Break... 6.22.08
From
looking at the dates on my blog you would think I haven't done anything
in almost the last two months, but thankfully that hasn't been the case.
Actually been working on a lot of art related things. more portraits design,
poster designs, networking and trying to make a name for my self. Everything
you would expect someone trying to make it as an artist would do. Its
nice to know that a lot of people support me in those efforts, more than
I would have guessed. Anyway, starting to get a headache. Neighbors working
on his house and his kids are screaming and dropping metal pipes all around.
Not sure how I'm even getting any thing done with the noise and the urge
to nicely, but loudly, ask for them to shut it.
Trying to make my surroundings more artsy. Found this link
of a designers (Jakob Westman) flat in Sweden, and really got everything
going for me. So far just have alittle bit of my dinning room and bedroom
done. Will post pixs soon. Anyway, below is one of the posters he has
that I would like to hang in my apartment. I made a few changes to it,
but still need to email him about paying for the use of it. Hopefully
there won't be a problem.

Lost an Update... 4.7.08
So
apparently I saved over the file, or didn't save it at all, but just noticed
I'm missing a recent blog entry. So instead of typing it again, I'm just
going to sum it up. Made progress on my tribute to
Audrey
Kawasaki (read the blog from the end of December). Posting a picture of
it below. I like where its going.

1 Down 3 to Go... 4.07.08
Okay,
so one poster is done. Actually spent all day Sunday thinking about it
then worked on it Sunday evening for a few hours. I was happy how it turned
out. Mostly thought that it didn't take me days to do. Annie, the friend
in the poster, features were pretty easy to illustrate. Also entered the
design in a t-shirt contest. Doing well but there is some major competition.
Anyway go here
if your want to vote for it. Below is a pic of it. Not into spell checking
right now so if there are any typos then please accept my carefree attitude
towards it. Really to tired to worry about it.

Kawasaki
Mania... 12.28.07
So
I'm totally enamored with Audrey Kawasaki and her work. Captivated, not
foolish or unreasoning fondness, which I felt was a bit crude of a definition.
Its just that her work shows such elegant's and emotion, while being a
bit on the erotic side. Her ability to capture the female form is amazing
and something I hope to emulate, not duplicate, in my next piece that
I'm working on. So this makes two designs I need to finish. The joy I'm
having from working on both pieces will probably keep me motivated to
finish them. Anyway, if you haven't checked out the link to her site I
posted on the links section, its www.audrey-kawasaki.com
and
her blog is
i-seldom-do.livejournal.com.
She
recommends the book "Process
Recess 2" by James Jean, so if your into art check it out. If
not I'm going to and I'll let you know what I think. The first stage of
my new piece is below.

Can't Stop Wont Stop... 12.20.07
Been
working on my latest portrait for Bella. I want to have it done Monday
so been putting in a few hours a day into it. Really excited about its
progress and how quickly I'm getting it done. Keeping this short today
but below is a sneak peek at the piece so far.

Trying to Keep Up...12.9.07
So
I had the pleasure of being sick for a week so I'm behind in doing everything
I planned on doing to the site. The new shirt "Never Belong"
should be printed Monday or Tuesday so that's when I'm going to post everything
to the store section of the site. That way there will be 4 shirt designs
to pick from. Now it won't be the "traditional" store, per say,
since I still need to actually build the thing, but you'll be able to
place orders with me until I actually get everything running.
So I have three portraits I need to start or finish by mid January. One
of Kat Von D I've been working on forever, another I just started of fetish
model Bella
Vendetta (very NSFW). I found this really great photo of her and spoke
to her about recreating it. She's cool with the whole thing so I'd like
to get that done soon. And last I'm creating a piece for a friends house.
The deadlines are self imposed but I feel like it just takes me way to
long to finish a piece these days. Working on the simplicity of the design
instead of being so antsy about the details.
Plus
I think I'm going to start sketching something every week and just post
it to the site. I spend so much time on a computer doing art, I just want
to remind myself that I can draw. Maybe work on light sources and shading.
It'll be a mixture of a lot of things, people, animals, etc. Just want
to get back to my roots.

Working
on my Blog...11.29.07
So
right now I'm trying to see how I want to work my blog. Not everything
is worked out but I like what it is right now.
I've been stressing out about this whole web store and having x number
of shirts down by Christmas. There is still a lot of techniques and script
I have to learn, money I need to fork over, etc; that I'm just getting
stressed. Not excited about it like I started out doing. So starting next
week I'm just going to put the shirts that I have out there. If they sell,
they sell, if not at least I have some stuff to give out on birthdays.
I'm finishing up my 4th design and that should be printed on the 11th
of Dec. Plus my messenger bags should be in by then so I can get the ball
rolling on those. I had my niece and nephew fold all the shirts already
printed and bag them for me. Gotta love child labor. Exactly, jut kidding,
child labor is bad. Anyway posted a picture of the 4th design so you can
check it out by looking down.
